THE GOLDEN BOAT/ SLOVENIA
In November 2005 Fiona Sampson introduced Slovenian writers touring the UK to us at THE SOUTH with a translation workshop and evening reading.
Following this event two poets closely connected with THE SOUTH, Maria Jastrzebska and John O’Donoghue, were invited to The GOLDEN BOAT international poetry translation workshop - a week-long stay in an idyllic village near the Skocjan caves in July 2006. As part of this cultural exchange, the work of 6 Brighton poets from THE SOUTH has been translated into Slovenian and will be published in the near future. Watch this space for more details.
