DON PATERSON agrees to be patron of THE SOUTH

Don Paterson the internationally acclaimed poet and twice T S Eliot Award winner is to be the poetry patron of THE SOUTH, the active literature organisation that runs events and workshops throughout the year. Don arrived in Brighton on Friday 4th March to present and talk about his work in a series of special events organised by THE SOUTH to celebrate the opening of Brighton's new Jubilee Library.

“I'm delighted to be associated with a creative group that aims to bring poetry to people in new and exciting ways,” he said.

John Davies, Director of THE SOUTH said “This is a tremendous honour as Don is the leading poet of his generation. It acknowledges Don's long connection with Brighton - he set up Brighton Poets in the early nineties. It's also a great endorsement for THE SOUTH and recognises our commitment to quality of work and the professional development of poets and other writers.”
