POETRY WORKSHOP With Brendan Cleary

Saturday 31st of March 2007, 10am-1pm

This 3-hour informal workshop is based on Brendan’s no-nonsense, practical approach to help people improve their poetry through group discussion and appraisal. FOCUS AND DEVELOP: CREATIVE WRITING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

with Claire Collison

Saturday 28th April, 10 am – 1 pm

Whether you're already working on that novel/short story/memoir/poem or need inspiration to get started, this workshop will use photography to sharpen your focus and develop your writing. And you don't even need to own a camera. Using hands-on writing exercises, we'll be creating narratives that consider the impact of point of view, use framing and focus, help build original detail and develop an authentic voice. Plus we'll be exploring the wealth of inspiration to be had from found photos as well as the Family Album. Bring along pens, paper and (if you like) a photo you're happy to share.
